You’ll automatically receive email notifications when certain activities take place in your workspaces and matters for example when someone uploads a new file or mentions you in a comment.
You can control most of these from your notification settings, but a few important system emails can’t be turned off (like invitations).
Default behavior
By default:
You’ll receive in-app notifications for key activity.
You’ll also receive email notifications for the same activity.
You can change your email notification preferences at any time by going to Settings → Profile → Notifications
Email notifications you can turn on or off
In Settings → Profile → Notifications, you can choose whether to receive emails for:
“Notify when a new member joins my workspace” - You’ll receive an email when a new member is added to a workspace you belong to.
“Notify when a new version of files or new file has been uploaded to the matter” - You’ll receive an email when a new file is uploaded to a matter, or a new version of an existing file is uploaded.
“Notify when a saved package has been created” - You’ll receive an email whenever a saved package is created in a matter you have access to.
“Notify when someone mentions me in a comment” - You’ll receive an email when another user @mentions you in a comment on a matter or file.
Notifications that cannot be turned off
Some emails are essential for using Office & Dragons and can’t be disabled:
Email invitations to matters or workspaces
Sent when you’re invited to join a workspace or a specific matter.Monthly usage email (admins only)
Sent to org admins with a summary of their organization's usage for the month.
Data retention & deletion notifications (if enabled)
If your organization has data retention enabled, you’ll receive additional emails when matters are scheduled for deletion, depending on the settings your org has chosen.
In that case, you will receive:
1st email: When your matter is approaching its scheduled deletion date (timing set by your organization).
2nd email: A reminder 24 hours before the matter is deleted.
These notifications are designed to give you time to review or export anything you need before the matter is permanently removed.
