Automatic placeholder extraction

When we created our first matter, we saw how Office & Dragons automatically extracts any text between square brackets from the documents we upload and adds them to our turnsheet.

This doesn't just happen during matter creation. Whenever you add a document to a workflow, O&D will automatically extract the placeholders and add them to your turnsheet.

If you've deleted some of the extracted placeholders and you want to add them back again, you can run the placeholder extraction any time by clicking the Dragon AI, the uploaded documents will be showing, click "Extract" and the deleted placeholders will be listed, to add them to your matter click "Done".

Automatic data extraction

You can also toggle Data extraction in the Extract panel and press Start to automatically extract data types like names, dates, and locations from your documents and add them to your turnsheet. You can specify what kind of data is extracted in the Data Type dropdown.

This is very useful when, for example, you're taking documents from a previous project and need to quickly update all the names and dates for the new project.

The extracted data will be shown to you in an interface, where you can review, edit or remove the extracted text before inserting it into your turnsheets.
