Case sensitivity

Replacement is case-insensitive by default. You can change the matching of upper and lower case letters using the Match Case editing option.

By default, text in the Find column of a Find & Replace workflow or in the column heading of a Merge workflow is matched case-insensitively. For example, typing "company" in the Find column will match "company", "Company", and "COMPANY" in the documents.

Lowercase letters in the Replace column of a Find & Replace workflow or in the rows of a Merge workflow will be changed to uppercase letters in the documents to match the case of the text that's being replaced, either by capitalizing the first letter or by converting to ALL CAPS.

You can change the default behavior by enabling the Match case in the editing options. This will convert to case-sensitive matching and will keep the casing of inserted text exactly as you typed it in your turnsheet.

Example

Document:

Dragon dragon DRAGON

Instruction:

1. Find what: dragon
Replace with: knight
Match case? Yes

2. Find what: dragon
Replace with: knight
Match case? No

Note: In a Merge workflow, "Find what:" is your column heading, and "Replace with:" is the row content.

Result:

1. Dragon knight DRAGON
2. Knight knight KNIGHT
