If you encounter an upload error while trying to upload your documents in the create matter dialog, remove the document from the upload window by pressing the X button and proceed with creating the matter without any documents by pressing the Next button.

Then, within the matter, press the Add files button within the Document preview pane.

Within the dialog, press Add New and use Legacy Upload to add your files to the matter. Please be aware that this particular file upload method is restricted to a maximum size of 1 MB.
